Reve21 (Head Office: Chuo-ku, Osaka; President: Katsumasa Okamura; hereinafter

“Reve 21”) presented its research results, “Functional Evaluation of Wasabi nooki* Leaf Extract,” at the Pharmaceutical Society of Japan (Hokkaido) held from March 25 to 28, 2023.

Various parts of horseradish ( Moringa oleifera ), including leaves, flowers, capsules, seeds, and roots, have been used in Ayurveda, a traditional medicine. In recent years, it has come into the limelight as a superfood due to its high nutritional value.

In recent years, it has been attracting attention not only as a superfood for its high nutritional value, but also from the perspective of the SDGs because of its contribution to the reduction of CO2 emissions.

Reve21 announced at an academic conference that the “leaves” of the horseradish tree have an inhibitory effect on male hormone activity, which is a factor in hair loss, and a cell proliferative effect on papilla cells, which are said to be responsible for the hair growth mechanism. In 2021, under the theme of “Search for New Functions of Horseradish Seed Extract and Prospects for Use in Cosmetics,” a research report on various functions including water purification was presented at the same academic conference.

Through the development of products containing the seeds and leaves of the horseradish tree, Reve21 will continue to trade on the added value of “green carbon” by planting trees to secure raw materials, and will continue to take on the challenge of research and development with an eye toward a new era.
